Vocalist - dissent // Bleeding Together and dissent 3 // Swap Meet Seers

Nathalie Sanchez was born in San Francisco, California, but spent the next twenty years in-between Montreal and Quebec City, Canada. Most of her time was spent in Montreal, where she studied design and song with several bands. When she returned to San Francisco as an adult, Nathalie began her musical career anew at the Mission Jazz School and vocal training with Judy Davis.

Nathalie's voice has been likened to Astrud Gilberto or a soft Joni Mitchell. Her composition "Shine," from dissent's Bleeding Together, was recently remixed by Ticklah and GE-ology and further accentuates her unusual musical skills.

She co-wrote two new compositions,"Je me Souviens" and "L'ame Celeste," with Gregory Howe on the new dissent release, Swap Meet Seers.

URB (PDF, HTML)
"French-Canadian vocalist Nathalie Sanchez blesses four tracks with elegance, including two ("Je Me Souviens" and "L'ame Celeste") in her native tongue, though "Where Lost Is Found" may qualify as her highlight."

SF Weekly
"Singer Nathalie Sanchez, whose honey-sweet vocals take the spotlight for nearly half the tunes, is the pick of the newbies. Whether riding the syncopated samba rhythm of "Flying High" or grooving in the synth and piano velvet of "Soul Cycling," Sanchez imbues the songs with a sunny, sultry quality that stands apart from the world-weary delivery of many a downtempo chanteuse."
